Location

Castiglione Messer Raimondo is a town named for its 15th century ruler, Raimondo Caldora. The name "Castiglione" retains the origins of its Latin name "Castellonium" or "castle town". It sits at the foot of the Gran Sasso Mountains, with a magnificent view of the Corno Grande, the highest peak in the Appenine range. The house itself is located on the castle grounds. So you can vist and rightly consider yourself royalty!

Our Services.

Guesthouse Casa da Carmine aims to be more than lodging. Proprietor Teresa Mastrobuono and manager Laura Belisario strive to make your time here a unique and memorable immersion into the nature, culture, historic sites, culinary delights, and folk life of the region. We can aid in arranging tours, wine tastings, transportation, cooking classes, outdoor activites, and trips to special events and festivals. Teresa has spent many years getting to know what the region has to offer and can act as guide; Laura has lived here all her life and knows the people and customs. Both speak English and Italian. Laura navigates the local dialect, as well! Both are happy to help you feel at home, like a part of the town and the life of its people and to make your stay not only a vacation, but an experience .
