My Story
My long and varied experience in vocal expression includes:
-
40+ years as a stage actress, playing everything from a 6-year old girl to a teenage boy to a 106-year-old Irish stroke survivor;
-
26 years teaching voice to students at two major colleges in Pennsylvania. Several of my students have gone on to have highly successful careers in voice-over work;
-
My years of work as a director gave me an understanding of the pacing and dynamics required to sustain a listener’s interest;
-
I have voiced commercials, staged readings, film narration, and was the signature voice of the pre-show announcement at Elizabethtown college;
-
My expressive and spirited delivery made me a favorite tour guide in Lancaster County, PA, narrating visits to Amish farmland – while driving a 13-passenger van!
-
I was a presenter, performer, and MC for several years at the Lititz (PA) Storytelling Festival, as well as being sought after for other such festivals in the US;
-
I have worked with autistic and hearing-impaired elementary students as a reader and educator;
-
After a car accident, to keep up my performance work, I studied mime and became a foremost practitioner of the art, even after recovering full use of my voice;
